Oracle Business Intelligence EE 11.1.1.9 Books. Explains how to install and deinstall Oracle Business Intelligence products (including Oracle BI Enterprise Edition, Oracle BI Publisher, and Oracle Real-Time Decisions). Includes a description for each screen.

In order to install the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g (11.1.1.9.0) you have to: 1) download the ODI software from here; 2) install Java 6 on your machine/ server; 3) install WebLogic (In my case I use WLS 10.3.6) or WebSphere server on machine you want to install ODI 11g; 4) have a database for holding ODI repository information. Prereqs for the installation: JDK, RCU and ODI installer:

Download the latest version of ‘JDK’, link:

Download and install internet explorer 11 browser for windows 10 download. Windows 7 Language Interface Packs (LIPs) provide a translated version of the most widely used areas of the user interface. In order to download a LIP for Internet Explorer, you need to have a matching Windows LIP. For more information, see Download languages for Windows. Internet Explorer 11 is currently available in the following LIP languages.

Install JDK. To do that navigate to the download directory and type “jdk-7u80-windows-x64”:
Hit enter and click next:
Change the location to the Root “C:” instead of “Program Files”, for ODI you may not get any issue but for OBIEE you will certainly face problems with that space in the name:

Click “Ok” and “Next”

Again, you will need to change the location and click “Ne
Click “ok” and “next“
Wait for the installation :
Ok, now that the JDK is installed we can install ODI and OBIEE 11G :
Download the ODI installer: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/data-integrator/downloads/index.html
In this post I will download the version 11.1.1.9.0 which is a generic version , you also need to download the RCU, repository creation utility (Windows 32/64 bits) according to your Operating system:
Remember, you will need to have an Oracle account to download the installers:
After downloading the RCU, extract it and run it, the reason why we need to run the RCU is because we need to create the components (schemas and tablespaces) before installing the ODI master and work repository, make sure you take note of user names, passwords and repository names, id’s etc.this is just one of the methods of configuring/installing ODI, there is another method that you can manually create the schemas(this was the only method in the previous ODI version “10 G”):
After downloading and extracting the RCU, Navigate to the “BIN” folder and type “rcu”, hit enter:

Skip the first page:
Click “create”:
Now We need to enter some information to connect to the DB as sysdba, note that this is a very high privilege, if you are implementing this toolset I assume you will have these permissions or at least ask your DBA to provide that privilege at least temporarily( if he is not happy ask him to run, he will grant the permission at least temporarily) :
Enter the following:Hostname: localhostDefault Port: 1521Default Service name (SID): ORCLUsername: sysPassword: the one you providedRole: SYSDBA
Click “Next”
If everything is ok you should get the following screen, just hit ok:
Select the “prefix” and “Component” as “Oracle data integrator” and hit next:
Click “Ok”, in the next screen you define the password, you can choose a single pass for all schemas or you can select “Specify different passwords for all schemas”, for this demo I chose a single pass on the option “Use same passwords for all schemas ”, click next :
Now we need to provide the master repository ID, work repository type(for development environment choose “D” so that you will have the “Designer” module or if it is an execution environment such as “QA” or Production, you should choose “E” for execution), work repository id, work repository name and password, make sure you save it:
Take a look, the RCU is about to create the schema/owner, default tablespace and temp tablespace, click next :
Click ok:
Click “Ok”
Click “Create”:

Now that the metadata is created we can install ODI:
Create a new folder and extract both files into a single folder:
Navigate to the folder where the universal installer is located: C:UsersAdministratorDownloadsODI_11.1.1.9Disk1installwin64
in the cmd enter “setup.exe” to initialize the installer
You will see this screen, enter the JDK path:
Enter the path like the following screenshot :
The wizard should show up like this screenshot below, it may take a little while, click “Next”:
Skip software updates and click next:
Choose the basic options, I will show how to install the ODI agent in another post, just to remind you about the JAVA ee Agent, if you require it I recommend to do it in this step since it will be an ODI domain based in WebLogic. To install the JEE agent after the initial ODI install is time consuming and require many other config steps, you will need to create a WebLogic domain
Click” Next”:
Location where ODI will be installed, click “Next”:
In this step, skip the “Repository configuration” since you have created the metadata schema.
If you choose ”configure Repositories” you can create the schemas after installing ODI , in this case we proceed hit “Next” and ignore the warning if that’s the case and choose install:

Go to start menu and verify that studio is accessible and ready for use, we will need another step to configure the repositories connections:

I was trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on windows 2012R2 but getting bad luck each time.Tried many permutations and combinations but each time installation failed while configuring BI PUBLISHER stage. Finally got the problem, problem was small but work around was big. After trying may options finally resorted to most time saving option to install OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on windows 2012R2. Culprit was a file where windows server 2012 entry is not given which can be added manually with a little effort. But real problem is that file is generated during installation so there is no way you can modify it before installation. So anybody who is installing one install is going to be spoiled. But wait I have a better option. I have prepared correct file for my installation and fortunately that is reusable. I am uploading that file and anybody can use that by downloading it here, or you can modify yourself as described below. Having modified file ready what you have to do is to just wait till installation reaches a point where jython-modules.jar file is generated. I think you have to wait and keep checking every minute for this file. Once this file is created simply replace it with my modified file. Your installation will succeed.
